Titled “The Mutable Constant”, the booth explores how art responds to uncertainty in an ever-changing era, while seeking an inner order and spiritual anchor. Eight artists from Taiwan and abroad engage with their respective media and visual languages to offer multifaceted interpretations of “constancy”— Poren Huang condenses humor and emotion through sculpture, continues to evolve over time, demonstrating that constancy resides both in the accumulation of daily sentiments and in the traces of cultural memory amidst change. Lin Chun Pin juxtaposes classical imagery with contemporary symbols through collage, constructing trajectories of cultural continuity that allow historical memory to attain new constancy within a shifting temporal context. Hakuta Yoshuya creates poetic worlds through anthropomorphized animals and delicate modulations of light and color, reflecting the enduring presence of life and culture and manifesting an inner rhythm of constancy within change. Zdenek Konvalina transforms fleeting rhythms into abstract brushstrokes, freezing dynamic energy on the canvas and capturing constancy amid continuously shifting gestures. Jo Gyuhun employs his signature “face-covering” characters to capture transient emotions, transforming them into symbols that resonate within collective memory and reflect humanity’s enduring longing for innocence and remembrance. Rotteveel Vermeer constructs dynamic compositions through folded metal foil and flowing light, rendering the state of “completion” simultaneously provisional and persistent, revealing the paradoxical tension between mutability and constancy. Franklin Collao, through his unique sfumato technique, imbues tranquil colors with underlying energy, generating a sense of constancy in the interplay between flux and stability. Elke Foltz, through soft layering and sensory brushwork, captures seemingly ordinary moments in nature that endure, allowing quotidian experiences to persist within the image.

“The Mutable Constant” ultimately points to a dynamic balance: it is neither an absolute, unchanging stability nor a fleeting, ephemeral moment, but a mode of existence forged through the artists’ ongoing dialogue with time, emotion, and memory. This constancy is continually redefined by context and perception, yet its presence becomes all the more tangible and profound. Rich Art Gallery warmly invites viewers to enter this fluid space, woven from multiple aesthetics and perceptual experiences, and to encounter the enduring radiance of the spirit amid flux and stillness.
