Fuhaus Presents "Palazzo Invisibile: A Fantastical Realm"

Following last year’s single-brand exhibition, Fuhaus returns with its latest showcase, Palazzo Invisibile: A Fantastical Realm. Conceptualized by interior soft furnishing expert Milly Wu, founder of mmm, and visually curated by O.OO, this exhibition brings together the Italian furniture brand Edra and Canadian lighting brand Bocci to create an immersive home environment imbued with serenity and romance.

➤ Sherazade sofa

The centerpiece of this year’s exhibition is Edra’s Sherazade sofa, inspired by the Middle Eastern classic One Thousand and One Nights. Sherazade symbolizes a wise and kind storyteller who crafts mesmerizing tales, each evoking unique meanings and emotions. These stories, much like architectural palaces, inspire imaginative spaces. Designed by Francesco Binfaré, a longtime collaborator of Edra, the Sherazade sofa draws upon oriental elements, combining a minimalist chaise longue form with Thai-inspired triangular cushions for ultimate relaxation.

The exhibition transforms Fuhaus’s expansive first-floor space into a series of imaginative realms using layered drapery and architectural columns inspired by medieval palaces. O.OO’s design features columns of varying styles and proportions, interwoven with flowing curtains and adorned with fine lines and color blocks. This interplay of shapes and textures creates a sense of depth, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a palace-like environment that celebrates Edra and Bocci’s emotionally rich designs.

Edra:Breaking the Boundaries of Form, Material, and Function

➤ On the rock

In addition to Sherazade, the exhibition showcases two other iconic Edra creations. The On the Rocks sofa, also by Francesco Binfaré, features modular geometric shapes without rigid frames, allowing cushions to be freely adjusted for versatile configurations. The exhibited version is upholstered in the Minerals collection fabric, inspired by shimmering, translucent, mineral-like surfaces that catch the light from every angle. Another highlight is the Milano chair, designed by Jacoppo Foggini and inspired by the architectural façade of Milan Cathedral. With its slender profile, textured stripes, and warm gray tones, the chair is crafted from polycarbonate, refracting light to reveal a stunning gradient from transparency to gray. Completing the collection is the Standard sofa in dark leather, perfectly aligned with the exhibition’s theme of fantastical and romantic spatial narratives.

Bocci:Emotional and Romantic Lightscapes

➤ Bocci 44

The Canadian lighting brand Bocci, led by Omer Arbel, brings its sensorial and poetic lighting designs to the exhibition. Representing a fusion of craft and creativity, the showcased pieces include the 44, 28, 57, and 100 series. Bocci 44: Created by pouring molten aluminum into sand molds, this series captures the organic textures of impermanent rocks, evoking a fossil-like quality. Bocci 28: Using innovative glass-blowing techniques, these spherical lights feature recessed inner forms that capture and diffuse light, casting a radiant glow. Bocci 57: This series explores the interplay between light and shadow through abstract, hollow glass forms with suspended air bubbles, creating mesmerizing refractions. Bocci 100: A complex structure of interlocked glass spheres, shaped through synchronized glass-blowing machines, resulting in unique sculptural lighting.

Fuhaus General Manager Alex Shaw shares the vision behind these curated exhibitions: “Through thematic curation each year, we aim to move beyond simple product displays, showcasing the depth and breadth of the brands we represent. Our goal is to offer more diverse, emotionally charged, and passionate design options in Taiwan, breaking away from purely rational aesthetics to create spaces imbued with unique character.” The exhibition also features classic Edra designs presented as standalone pieces, including the floral-inspired Rose and Lily chairs by Masanori Umeda, the Esther and Ella chairs by Jacoppo Foggini, and the Blue Velvet chair with quilted upholstery.
