Having just concluded its fourth edition, Experience Life 2026 adopts The Next House Show as its central theme, inviting visitors to consider possible ways of living through the lenses of materials, objects, architecture, and art. Rather than presenting products alone, the exhibition poses broader questions to design professionals and enthusiasts alike: How do we perceive space? And how can design respond to everyday life? Across six thematic sections, objects move beyond the conventions of commercial display, revealing ongoing dialogues between technology and culture, past and future through material experimentation, cross-disciplinary collaborations, conceptual innovation, and tributes to timeless design.
Lights Out: When Light Becomes the Narrator
As the house lights dim, each exhibition space is illuminated in turn, unfolding its own intimate atmosphere. Visitors naturally slow their pace, allowing their attention to settle on what lies before them. Introduced for the first time at Experience Life, this carefully orchestrated lighting concept was developed in collaboration with Lighting Society Taiwan, using light to heighten perception. Within a low-light environment, subtle shifts of form, shadow, and spatial depth become all the more perceptible.
A Circular Future: Where Materials and Technology Converge
At the entrance, a luminous screen combining metal craftsmanship with 3D printing immediately sets the tone, opening a vision of future ways of living. Drawing inspiration from the silhouette of traditional Chinese gateways, the installation is a collaboration between 5PM® and Meshrōm, creating a miniature oasis that balances a futuristic sensibility with the vitality of nature. Designed as a low-maintenance xeriscape with both aesthetic appeal and durability, it offers a thoughtful response to sustainable landscapes in an era of limited water resources.
Looking further into the exhibition, increasingly mature applications of 3D printing reveal how the technology has evolved beyond experimental concepts into both public and private environments. The Fab-X collective—formed by C-Cube Lab, Yuan Ken Architecture Workshop, JUT Group, Zhen Tian, LOHAS, Everplast Machinery, and Ching-Tai Resins—presents Away House: An Embodied Experience of Future Living, a large-scale installation built with low-carbon precast components, 3D printing, and mineral-based coatings. Its cave-like, curvilinear form draws inspiration from nature, placing ideas of dwelling back within mountains, coastlines, and fields to reconsider the relationship between materials, nature, and everyday life.
Meanwhile, ROSO Art (ROSO Robotic Construction Laboratory) applies 3D printing as a medium for translating natural topographies, local cultures, and urban textures into public art and spatial design. From ribbon-like translucent seating to sculptural installations reminiscent of flowing coral formations, the works suggest how 3D printing is emerging as a creative language—one that continues to evolve through time and its surrounding environment.
Living Proposals: Rethinking Our Relationship with Objects
Within the furniture section, featuring leading domestic and international brands, visitors encounter a display strategy that moves beyond the conventions of a trade fair, encouraging new ways of engaging with familiar objects. JYT Design× Luxury Life adopts a curatorial approach, arranging scenes around key lighting pieces while sharing the stories behind their designs, allowing each lamp to become a vessel for emotion as much as illumination. Mori / CASA recreates everyday settings—from living rooms and kitchens to lounges—inviting visitors to experience the comfort, craftsmanship, and tactile qualities of iconic furniture firsthand. MD Studio collaborates with Taiwanese creators across disciplines, transforming sculptural coffee tables into canvases for new interpretations that challenge established perceptions.

Taiwanese brand Object Weiv introduces RAW STONE, a series developed around its VaClay (Vacuum Clay) concept. By shaping fabric freely before vacuum-hardening it, the process creates a sculptural material language that can be extended into sofas, vases, lighting, coffee tables, and beyond. IFON reinterprets the traditional craft of altar table making within a contemporary context, returning to the simple relationship between heaven, earth, and humanity while prompting renewed reflections on the forms of belief. Industrial designer Hsiang-Han Hsu, participating in Milan Design Week for the seventh time, also presents new works including the Tenderflame stove and O-Grill outdoor grill, responding to the essence of fire through a deep understanding of material.

Influence Forum: Expanding Dialogue and Exchange
Beyond the exhibition itself, Experience Life continues to foster dialogue by connecting design, brands, and manufacturing, creating new opportunities for collaboration across the industry. This year's expanded Influence Forum brings together practitioners from a wide range of disciplines, centring on timber architecture while exploring topics including AI, urban regeneration, sustainable materials, craft culture, and Nordic design thinking. Through conversations between speakers and audiences, the forum not only responds to questions surrounding future living, but also encourages the exchange of ideas and experiences that lay the groundwork for continued creativity. Looking back on this year's Experience Life, the exhibition did not attempt to define what future housing should look like. Instead, through materials, light, craftsmanship, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, it invited visitors to imagine new possibilities for living, collectively shaping a vision of The Next House.
