the Mountain Town
Home is the best gift in life. " Serenity in the Mountain Town" is a multi-storey apartment located on the top floor in the suburb of Xindian. At the same time, it has two terraces and balconies. The feature of overlooking the city mountain is the biggest advantage of this space. The interior distribution is divided into two areas: public domain (where the porch enters the door) and private domain (where the hostesses live). A spectacular staircase connects the two floors and becomes the apartment's most eye-catching focal feature.
In the downstairs, the public area includes the living room, dining room and kitchen, as well as an elder room and a daughter room. There are two solid glass walls in the public area, which are set in the entrance and the living room respectively. The crystal-clear glass bricks like ice cubes are staggered with convex designs under the seemingly regular stacking. The ups and downs of the layers present an interesting sense of design. The living room's glass brick wall is set on a stepped platform with an ink-toned staircase at the back. A fireplace is embedded at the bottom, which a bright flame can glow on this translucent brick wall as the owner walks up and down the steps. The flow of light and shadow extends to another layered ambiance of daily life, just like an art performance being played in an art gallery.
Additionally, there is another visual focus in the public realm. The large island in the dark black kitchen has a concise geometric structure that connects the natural greenery outside the floor-to-ceiling windows. From the terrace, you can see a good view of the city and the mountain hills complementing both interior and exterior views. The living room takes comfort as the main axis. Carrara white marble is chosen for its bright and delicate texture, and the hand-made roughness of the Panduomo floor is incorporated to create a material contrast.
A green terrace is also built next to the sofa. The borrowed scenery of outdoor furniture and plants echoes the distant city green hills, allowing nature and space design to complement each other, forming a unique sense of leisure in the space.
Climbing up the stairs, before entering the owner's private area, you will pass through the open lounge area as a buffer, and then to the master bedroom area. The bedrooms are surrounded by large terraces for even better views. Therefore, the designer Alan Yu took inspiration from the greenery outside the window and used green bricks with cloud and mist patterns as the main wall of the bedside, as if the pine green tones of the sky and the emerald mountain were integrated, bringing a calm feeling to the space.
The house is connected by a modern semi-open bathroom, and the dark tones make you feel peaceful. The mirror surface of the spacious washbasin is inlaid with a halo on the inner ring of the iron piece. The bathtub has a view of the terrace. The toilet room is also independent. The home has the thoughtful and meticulous feeling of a hotel, making people eager to return home and enjoy this one-of-a-kind comfort after a long day.
