Soft light sprinkles across the indoors herringbone parquet, illuminating the elegant textures on the carved surfaces. It immerses one in an atmosphere of leisure and romance, akin to that of Paris, where days unfold like a dream. As suggested by the project name 'A Home in Paris,' the designer brings the owner's longing for everyday Parisian life back to Taiwan, capturing their love for life in Paris.
Designer Alung Lin shares that the homeowner, a KOL passionate about fashion and art, frequently participates in international fashion events. As he strolls through the streets of Paris, he always experiences an unparalleled sense of ease and freedom. Deeply enchanted by this city of romance, he views Parisian life as his ideal. He wishes to bring this warmth and charm back to his home. Through images provided by the homeowner that capture this atmosphere, Alung Lin gains a deeper understanding of the homeowner's vision of life in Paris. Using this as a foundation, he weaves these desires into the design blueprint.
To capture the French ambiance, Alung Lin carefully selects suitable materials and decorative techniques. The woodwork details, from the frames to the ceiling's French carvings, include the elegant Ionic capitals, symbolizing sophistication. Every detail exudes a casual yet elegant European flair. With a precisely arranged setup, these elements are perfectly integrated, layer upon layer, allowing Parisian elements to permeate quietly throughout the home.
The homeowner's vision for life goes beyond just the glamour of Paris. In the living room, a retractable projection screen replaces traditional TV setups, showcasing a minimalist contemporary aesthetic while also meeting visual entertainment needs, and preserving the space’s purity and tranquility. The homeowner, who is very hospitable, desired a place for enjoying quality time with friends and family. Consequently, an eight-person round table in the dining room serves as the focal point for gatherings, always ready to welcome family and friends, underscoring the importance placed on socializing.
Unwilling to adhere to conventions, the homeowner and designer collaboratively discussed and personally selected many antique pieces of furniture and home decor, aiming for each item to be uniquely captivating. The goal was not to pursue luxury, but to create a home environment filled with charm and personality, breaking free from the monotony of matching furniture sets. Each object in the home exudes a refreshing taste and style. The entire space features soft white walls, establishing a fresh and bright ambiance. The floor complemented by classic herringbone woodwork as a tribute to Paris. This design not only permeates the beauty and surprises of French flair but also reflects the homeowner's pursuit and commitment to a certain quality of life.
"A Home in Paris" is no longer just a distant dream. The homeowner and designer collaboratively explore this ideal space, making each return home feel as if one were stepping through a magical door, instantly transporting them to Paris. Within this space, time seems to stand still, turning a beautiful life into daily reality. Each day is filled with the joy of a Parisian stroll, allowing happiness to naturally permeate.
