             Alice Guy public school

The project respects the new urban structure with the alignment of the facade of the multipurpose room to the west of the plot while aligning with the two existing buildings (troop and infirmary) to the East, parallel to the surrounding wall. The use of the topography to the benefit of the program allows for a facility where all the rooms are on the same level with their courtyards.
The project is organised according to 3 main programmatic entities linked by the central hall, thus guaranteeing better adaptability during transition times (morning / noon / evening) and the possibility of varied organisation according to the teaching / operation set up by the teaching teams.

On the low ground floor and organised around its playground, the preschool offers rooms served by a central corridor of large dimensions and benefiting from natural light provided by openings onto the yard. The break rooms are positioned at the end of the layout, benefiting from natural light and ventilation in the upper part of the rooms, behind the mashrabiya of the facade. The sanitary and technical rooms are spread over the length of the preschool in order to limit travel.
Two preschool classes are close to the vertical circulation of the hall leading to the high ground floor and to the elementary courtyard. They can thus be used by the elementary without disturbing the operation of the preschool.

On the upper ground floor, the elementary school operates on the same principle of naturally lightened central circulation. This overlooks the double height of the hall and the courtyard of the elementary courtyard.

The grid pattern of the rooms allows for maximum evolution of the
organisation to accompany future developments in educational projects, an evolution that could be continued by an extension on the surface of the courtyard.
The multi-purpose room is accessible from the courtyard and benefits from a very protected circulation (sheltered from the rain and wind). Its dissociation from the «body» of the elementary building makes it possible to envisage a real use shared with the neighborhood without nuisance, while allowing a volumetric decomposition making the link with the residential fabric of the Saint Donatien neighborhood.
