-WunderLocke Hotel

A workplace, a bar, a restaurant, a hotel. Can you imagine that a hotel that was originally intended for tourists can be so multifunctional? The Wund erLocke Hotel in Munich uses "flexibility" as the central axis to develop a public space that connects the community and the individual. WunderLocke Hotel is the second time the owners have worked with London architectural firm Holloway Li, with two key designers, Alex Holloway and Na Li. The design is brought to life through the creation of a story. When you step into the hotel, the space without too many barriers immediately relaxes your mind. In line with the design concept, Wunder Locke blurs the boundaries of each area with wooden shelves, lighting, plants and other soft furnishings. From the perspective of the hotel's operation, this design adds flexibility to the activity areas, allowing the placement of spaces to change according to guests' preferences, making the entire public space more community-oriented and people-oriented.

It is worth mentioning that all common spaces on the first floor of WunderLocke, including the work area, bar and restaurant, are open to all; meaning you don't have to be a guest staying at this hotel, as long as you arrive at WunderLocke Hotel, they will always welcome you with open hands so that people who want to work in the caf , go around for a good meal and wander in for a drink after work can experience the beauty of the space.
WunderLocke Hotel draws on local materials and characteristics, using the works of local artists and the surrounding nature as inspiration, continuing the concept of lake blue, forest, and fluidity. Therefore, we can see the blue and green accents in the rooms and the use of wood and plants in the lobby. The architectural firm has introduced the characteristics of the hotel's surroundings into the space in the most subtl e way. One of the eye-catching features of WunderLocke Hotel is the combination of different cultures, which designer Na Li can only describe as a pleasant surprise.

If you look closely, you will see that the ceiling of the lobby is decorated with a large wooden ornamentation, which is accented by a flowing curvature and looks like an oriental ceiling fan. The designer laughs and says that she didn't notice this at all when he was designing, but it was only after receiving feedback from many customers that she gradually realized that she had added elements of her own culture into the design, and with these different cultures, WunderLocke is full of surprises everywhere. Holloway Li Architects is constantly trying to bring the impact of storytelling to people. For them, architecture is not an exhibition space for designers, but a space for people to move around. Each building has its own story, and what the designers should do is to write out these stories, so that people can enjoy the building as if they were reading a book, and be amazed by the wonderful details.

豪利威( A l e x H o l l o w a y ) 和酈娜( N a Li)設計而成,藉由創造故事性讓設計活出生命力。
