JOMOO Headquarters
Designed by OMA for the JOMOO Group, the Innovation Center reimagines the office typology through a bold, sculptural presence that directly engages with its surrounding context. Situated at the intersection of two contrasting conditions—an urban block lined with towers on one side and a softly sloping green landscape on the other—the building establishes a spatial dialogue through a façade composition that emerges from a chiseled base. This ascending language of the envelope expresses both a response to the topography and a symbolic reading of corporate identity.

Referencing JOMOO’s core as a sanitaryware manufacturer, the architecture draws inspiration from materials integral to the brand’s products. The tower is clad in vertical bands of white ceramic fins, forming a rhythmic and precise grid that brings clarity and depth to the façade. The shifting patterns across the elevations animate the surface and introduce a cadence that responds to changes in light, viewpoint, and context. The podium geometry is shaped by the contours of the hillside, articulated through angular facets that recall the cut surfaces of a gemstone. This faceted base transitions into a unified vertical volume above, gradually consolidating structural lines and axial alignments toward the tower’s upper levels. While the building harmonizes with the neighboring high-rise commercial district, it remains distinct in silhouette—asserting itself as a visual landmark within Xiamen’s rapidly evolving skyline.

Inside, the architectural strategy prioritizes spatial efficiency and flexibility. By extending structural spans and minimizing interior columns, the design achieves adaptable floorplates that support a range of programmatic needs. The curtain wall system integrates with the ceramic fin cladding to form distinctive window modules, framing views outward while contributing to the building’s refined tectonic expression. Multiple entrances are integrated within the envelope, carved from the angular geometry of the podium to create generous access points. The ground level houses a reception lobby, exhibition hall, and multifunctional spaces for meetings and events, while upper floors accommodate JOMOO’s administrative offices.

From form-making to material detailing, the building reflects a precise alignment with the company’s growth trajectory and its investment in both craftsmanship and advanced production technologies. More than a conventional headquarters, the JOMOO Innovation Center is envisioned as an open and forward-facing institutional platform. Within the context of a transforming urban environment, it stands as a new architectural prototype, extending the dialogue between building and city, brand and place.
