Stepping into the home that Chuxiang Design has created for this family, you feel a sense of ease almost at once. A quiet simplicity sets the tone: a pure white base steadies the space, while the grain of teak veneer introduces a warm, tactile counterpoint. Once the interior is pared back to this kind of simple clarity, the idea of what a home might be is free to grow in its own way.
Sunlight drifts across the muted grey floor, softening the edges of the day. The furniture stays light and movable, ready to shift with the family’s rhythms. They settle on the sofa or sink onto the rug, gathering on the floor in a way that keeps conversation unguarded and easy.
A single kitchen island anchors the open plan, linking the living area and the kitchen without breaking the sense of flow. Its role changes throughout the day—at mealtimes, it becomes the place where dishes pause, where food moves from one pair of hands to another. Nearby, open shelves hold small traces of the family’s shifting interests.
Doors painted the same tone as the walls recede into stillness; solid-wood handles mark each quiet transition from one space to the next. Details are kept spare and deliberate, as if protecting the calm that fills the home. Against this backdrop of white space, a few colorful artworks and a high-saturation table lamp bring in a soft pulse of energy.
