Dialogue of Surfaces: The Kitchen’s Centerpiece
步入開放式廚房，沙色中島對應著左側深灰牆面，兩者構築出場域的基本秩序。尺度與動線在精準掌握間，中島體量適中界定廚房區域卻又不阻擋視線，以牆面延展為背景，穩固其縱深尺度。人們沿著中島與牆面之間的過道前行，視線隨之延伸至更遠的起居空間，營造出沉穩而開闊的印象。
Upon entering the open-plan kitchen, the sand-hued island aligns with a deep-gray wall to the left, together defining the space’s fundamental order. Meticulously calibrated in both scale and flow, the island’s dimensions delineate the cooking area without obstructing sightlines, while the wall extends as a continuous backdrop, reinforcing the room’s depth. Stepping between island and wall, one’s gaze naturally carries into the adjacent living zone, creating a sense of composed openness at first glance.
中島由 Inalco Duna 系列以柔霧般的沙色肌理包覆，左側深灰牆面則採用 Brenta 系列成為垂直屏障。淺深水平與垂直的鮮明對比賦予場域清晰的秩序。從中島與牆面間繞過後方，視野即為開闊，動線也隨之釋放成為人們備餐與互動的核心，而明亮柔和的色調賦予居者親切的氛圍。
The island is clad in panels from Inalco’s Duna series, their matte sand texture subtly articulated, while the left-hand wall is sheathed in deep-gray Brenta series panels that function as a vertical screen. The stark interplay of light and dark, horizontal planes and vertical faces, establishes a clear organizational logic. Circling behind the island, the view instantly opens and movement eases into the kitchen’s hub, where the bright yet muted palette lends an approachable quality.
回應當代廚房的轉變，中島作為半開放的社交節點，將烹飪活動融入居家日常，垂直牆面提供必要的界定；兩者間共同讓開放與機能達到平衡。隨光線與時間推移，兩種石材展現出豐富變化，為空間注入流動的節奏，在冷靜理性的基調下仍保有節奏與張力，為日常留下一抹餘韻。
Responding to the shift toward open-plan kitchens, the island acts as a semi-open social node, weaving culinary activities seamlessly into daily life, while the vertical wall provides essential spatial definition. Together, they strike a balance between openness and function. As light and time progress, the two stone finishes reveal nuanced variations, animating the space with a steady rhythm. Within this composed framework, the design maintains its tension and cadence, imparting a subtle afterglow to everyday moments.
