談及 YKK 集團,若仔細觀察自身衣著上的鋁製拉鍊,便能看見其品牌早已於 1966 年來台設立華可貴公司拉鍊事業的商品,現蹤於你我生活日常,並不陌生。如今,集團建材事業的超高水密窗商品已躍升成為豪宅指定配備,開啟台灣頂級鋁門窗技術開發嶄新的一頁,看似如此南轅北側的型態,總經理張國安,娓娓道述企業開拓新事業版圖的來龍去脈。一切始於品牌創始人吉田忠雄先生對鋁製拉鍊材質特性的運用,他洞察當時社會發展走勢,開發出鋁製門窗正貼合亞太市場的耀眼商機,便作為事業體發展新方向。1989 年,集團取得台北車站前新光人壽大樓的國際標案,成為 YKK AP 來台關鍵契機,於是建材事業部應運而生,且於桃園楊梅設立製造工廠,自此正式開展台灣鋁門窗、帷幕牆業務市場。

 

 

 

 

 

Many may recognize the YKK name from the aluminum zippers found on everyday apparel. Since 1966, when YKK Taiwan first introduced its fastening products to the local market, the brand has been woven into the fabric of daily life. Today, YKK’s Architectural Products (AP) Division has redefined its presence in Taiwan through cutting-edge aluminum window systems that have become the preferred choice for luxury residential projects—marking a pivotal chapter in the evolution of premium fenestration technologies. Kuo An Chang, General Manager of YKK AP Taiwan, recounts the company’s journey in expanding its architectural business. This transformation traces back to the foresight of founder Tadao Yoshida, who saw potential in applying the group’s expertise in aluminum zippers to architectural applications. Recognizing the increasing demand for durable, climate-resilient windows in the Asia-Pacific region, Yoshida initiated the group’s foray into architectural products. In 1989, YKK Group secured a landmark project for the Shin Kong Life Tower across from Taipei Main Station—an international tender that catalyzed the official establishment of the AP Division in Taiwan. A manufacturing plant was soon built in Yangmei, Taoyuan, marking the beginning of YKK AP Taiwan’s operations in aluminum windows and curtain wall systems.
 
 
 
 
 

起初,在台進展並非一路順遂,無論是開發成本、製成或商品定價,皆因起步階段市場對建材事業部及商品迥異的陌生感,面臨重重考驗。推廣過程,建材事業部對於台灣海島型氣候颱風常態生成影響居住品質的關注仍不忘留心,以當年時空背景對窗扇風雨測試技術等規範,普遍每平方米面積僅可承受 50 公斤壓力的水密性而言,難以抵禦颱風襲擊滲漏水詬病。儘管如此,這些難題並未阻攔前行的腳步,反而將情況回饋日本總部的開發部門並攜手台灣分公司研發、製造部,針對本地氣候於 2006 年推出高水密性能產品「YRB 系列」,透過對地域性差異設想而研發出體貼居民的商品精神,成功贏得 YKK AP 於建築界的口碑。

 

 

 

 

 

However, the journey was far from smooth. As a newcomer in the building materials sector, the company faced numerous challenges—from high R&D and manufacturing costs to limited market recognition. At the time, local standards for window water-tightness allowed only 50 kilograms of pressure per square meter—insufficient for a typhoon-prone island nation like Taiwan. Yet, instead of retreating, YKK AP Taiwan communicated the challenge to its headquarters in Japan and collaborated closely with its local product development and manufacturing teams. Launched in 2006, the YRB Series was engineered to meet Taiwan’s unique climate demands. Designed with sensitivity to regional differences, the series quickly gained a solid reputation in the construction industry, underscoring the brand’s ability to offer windows that not only meet technical standards but also enhance daily living.
