此次展覽是由 Jumana Ghouth 與 Graham Haman 共同策劃的“Matters through Matter”展覽的一部分，持續展至2024年3月已完美落幕。 數位藝術家兼設計師 Andrés Reisinger 作品“Take Over Jeddah”，該裝置藝術強烈的吸引力和創意是一系列跨越實體與數位領域，引領討論具話題性的藝術作品，在短時間內迅速獲得廣泛關注的新實體展現。這個裝置藝術首次在 Balad Al-Fann 展出，旨在振興吉達（Jeddah）聯合國教科文組織世界遺產區，並推動成為一個充滿活力文化前沿的藝術倡議。
This monumental piece responds to and integrates with the rich history of Jeddah’s Old Town, blending local culture, traditional architecture, and the vibrant energy of the city's marketplaces. Reisinger’s work, characterized by his signature pink, symbolizes the fusion of past and present, creating a sense of unity and belonging. This public art installation invites the community to reflect on the coexistence of heritage and innovation, prompting a reexamination of the role and significance of art in contemporary society.
自2023年12月啟動以來，Balad Al-Fann 已經展示了來自當地和國際藝術家合作多樣藝術性作品，探討了包括遺產、移民、氣候變化以及藝術的變革力量等主題，並以“Past Forward”為主題。此次 Reisinger 的“Take Over Jeddah”裝置藝術作品模糊了我們理解對虛與實存在的邊界，為古老的敘事賦予了現代色彩。作品高達17公尺，以粉紅色布料覆蓋在一座古老建築的表層，雖然建築視覺看起來被材料覆蓋著，但實際上並未觸及到建築體，透過藝術家有意為之，以形式微妙介入的方式，不僅保護建築本體賦予其新的視覺語言，促使觀眾思考現代與傳統之間的關係，特別是那些面臨被遺忘的古老建築。
Since its inception in December 2023, Balad Al-Fann has showcased a diverse range of artworks by local and international artists, exploring themes such as heritage, migration, climate change, and the transformative power of art under the theme "Past Forward." Reisinger's "Take Over Jeddah" blurs the boundaries between the virtual and physical worlds, adding a modern hue to ancient narratives. The installation, standing 17 meters tall, drapes a historic building in pink fabric. While it appears that the fabric covers the structure, it does not actually touch the building itself. This intentional, subtle intervention not only preserves the integrity of the building but also introduces a new visual language, encouraging viewers to contemplate the relationship between modernity and tradition, especially in relation to aging structures at risk of being forgotten.
這件裝置作品頗具規模，回應與融合 Jeddah 當地老城文化、傳統建築風格與活絡當地市集的悠久歷史，Reisinger 的作品以其標誌性的粉紅色象徵著過去與現在的新、舊融合，創造一種凝聚團結的歸屬。此公共裝置藝術作品，邀請民眾反思遺產與創新共存的現象，並喚起人們重新思考藝術之於當代社會中的存在角色與意義。
