Tane Garden House
Tane Garden House 的建成，起源於三年前 Vitra 名譽主席 Rolf Fehlbaum 帶著建築師 Tsuyoshi Tane 在韋爾-阿姆-萊茵（Weil am Rhein）周圍開車兜風，他談論著他的童年和如今對Vitra園區的田園記憶。那時建築師 Tsuyoshi Tane 產生了一個新的建築想法，於是他決定以「未來考古學」的理念設計建築，這些建築的概念都會來自於該地點的記憶。Tane 花園屋在 2023 年 6 月完工，並將在巴塞爾藝術展期間正式揭幕。
The construction of the Tane Garden House originated three years ago when Rolf Fehlbaum, Chairman Emeritus of Vitra, took architect Tsuyoshi Tane for a drive around Weil am Rhein, discussing his childhood and his pastoral memories of the fields that now house the Vitra Campus. It was during this drive that architect Tsuyoshi Tane conceived a new architectural idea, deciding to design a building based on his philosophy of "Archaeology of the Future," where architectural concepts stem from the memories of the place. The Tane Garden House was completed in June 2023 and will be officially inaugurated during Art Basel.

By burning underground resources, traditional architecture contributes to climate change. The Tane Garden House, by using above-ground materials such as stone, wood, thatch, and rope, is inherently aligned with nature. In addition to the selection of materials, the construction itself is carried out by local craftsmen using locally supplied materials. For example, the stone and wood used in the house were procured locally, requiring only short-distance transportation. The wood, for instance, was transported from the Black Forest to the factory and then to the campus, covering a total distance of 50 kilometers. Architect Tsuyoshi Tane not only implemented his concept during the construction phase of the Garden House but also integrated sustainability into its maintenance. Tane is convinced that only the local community can support and protect the longevity of architecture.
Tane 的花園屋面積為 15 平方公尺，非常狹小，可容納約 8 人。主要用於存放園藝工具，它也供 Vitra員工使用，這些員工負責園區的蜜蜂飼養，以及在花園屋旁邊正在興建的蔬菜園。戶外座椅和一個小噴泉用於澆水、清洗靴子和工具。此外，位於園區中央的這座建築還將設有一個觀景平臺，遊客可以從中享受花園和 Vitra 園區 360 度無障礙視角。
The Tane Garden House measures 15 square meters, making it very compact and capable of accommodating around 8 people. It is primarily used for storing gardening tools. It is also available for use by Vitra employees who tend to the campus bees and are involved in the vegetable garden being created next to the Garden House. Outdoor seating and a small fountain are provided for watering, cleaning boots, and tools. Additionally, this building, located in the center of the campus, will feature a viewing platform from which visitors can enjoy unobstructed 360-degree views of the garden and the Vitra Campus.
田根剛 (Tsuyoshi Tane) 為校園設計的建築是繼篠原一雄 (Kazuo Shinohara) 的傘屋、安藤忠雄(Tadao Ando) 的會議館和SANAA 的工廠大樓 (Factory Building) 之後，第四個由日裔建築師設計的建築。本展自 2023 年 11 月 18 日起，在維特拉設計博物館畫廊將舉辦一場特別展覽，展示對田根剛 (Tsuyoshi Tane) 的作品及其花園洋房計畫。
Tsuyoshi Tane’s addition to the campus is the fourth by an architect of Japanese descent, after the Umbrella House by Kazuo Shinohara, the Conference Pavilion by Tadao Ando and the Factory Building by SANAA. Since November 18 2023, a special exhibition at the Vitra Design Museum Gallery is presenting insights into Tsuyoshi Tane’s work and his Garden House project.
